I grew up in a small rural town in southern Missouri, so I learned quickly to hide the fact that I was different, that I was a girl. I joined the military right out of high school and found myself in a war. I served in the USAF during Operations Desert Shield & Desert Storm. I am now a Logistics Coordinator and a Mother of four. I have a wonderful wife and children that love and support me.
I’m also a geek! I grew up playing D&D and reading comics. I go to fantasy/scifi conventions and I’m an expert in Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel and Firefly, I was a guest speaker for several convention panels on these subjects. I hosted a fairly popular Joss Whedon podcast (BtVS/Angel/Firefly/Dollhouse etc.) with my best friend for several years. My wife, my friends and I play D&D every Saturday over discord.
I came out as a trans woman to friends and family in 2015 and came out to everyone, including at work in 2019. I’ve lost a few people along the way and that breaks my heart, but I have the love and support from so many friends and family.
We never stop transitioning or learning about ourselves, it’s been a true joy to find myself, to finally just be me. I hope this blog helps others do the same or helps cis gender people understand trans people better, that is my goal.
